Frequently Asked Questions

How do I clean decorative ceramic tile?
Decorative ceramic tile can be cleaned with any household cleaner.

How do I clean decorative tumbled marble tiles?

Decorative tumbled marble tiles need to be cleaned with stone cleaner or with the use of a soft cloth, warm water and non-abrasive cleaner, such as mild soap. Avoid any care products which contain abrasives, phosphoric acids, scouring powder, chlorine, acetone or glycolic acids. Mild cleaning will preserve the stone for a long time.

Will they discolor or craze over time?

Ceramic tile will not discolor but over time some crazing may occur, giving the tiles an “old world” character.

How do I find someone to install my decorative tile-mural?
Most tile showrooms have a list of reputable tile installers to recommend.  Please consult showroom representative for instructions specific to your installation.

Can I use them on the floor?
Most decorative hand painted tile is wall tile.  However, special ceramic tile fired with special glazes can be used on floors.

Can I use decorative hand-painted tiles near water?
Ceramic hand-painted tiles can be used in showers, pool settings, and fountains.

Can I set hot pots on a tile counter?
You can safely put hot pots on decorative hand-painted ceramic tile counter tops.  Because ceramic tiles are fired in a kiln at a very high temperature they are extremely heat resistant and durable.

What if a tile breaks during shipping or installation?

A broken tile can be replaced.  Because it is in the nature of hand-painted and hand-glazed ceramic tiles to exhibit slight variations in color, such slight color variations could occur in the replacement.

How long will it take to receive my order?
Depending on the scale and scope of the project, lead time is usually 6-8 weeks.
